Apple will unveil its new-generation iPhone 15 smartphone in mid-September. It will probably be the first to have a USB-C port rather than a Lightning port because of EU regulations.
This means that Apple will also include a USB-C cable with the phone. Now, details about the cable have leaked out. And they are somewhat disappointing. While the 1.5-meter cable is supposed to be particularly thick and durable, it only supports USB 2.0 speeds.
We can only speculate about what exactly can be deduced from this. It would be conceivable that only the Pro models get a faster cable. It is also possible that all iPhone customers will have to buy separate accessories for faster speeds. Users who regularly want to transfer photos or high-resolution videos via cable would hardly avoid this additional expense.
Faster charging
Somewhat more positive news about the iPhone 15 has leaked out recently. For example, some models charge significantly faster than their predecessors, with 35 watts.
However, there is no information about when Apple will officially show the iPhone 15. The presentation will likely take place on September 12 or 13.
